Hello and Welcome to Cockapoo Place!

Cockapoo Place was founded in March, 2012 by Jay & Marie Manasco. Our mission is to provide a fun, friendly and informative community for Cockapoo lovers & enthusiasts as well as promote the Cockapoo.

We live in Petal, Mississippi. Jay is employed as a Surgery Tech at Hattiesburg Clinic in Hattiesburg, MS. and I am employed part time at D and J Development, a real estate management company.  All of the site postings, website structure and updates are completed by us in the evenings & on weekends as time allows.  We welcome & appreciate any suggestions or ideas you may have.

In October of 2011 we lost our beloved German Shepherd, Max to heartworms. Max was a wonderful, loyal and faithful best friend.  He is dearly missed. After the loss of Max, our home had an emptiness so we decided to look for another dog. Upon doing research on the internet we came across photos and information about Cockapoos.

The Cockapoo had all of the qualities we were looking for in a dog.

After looking and searching for a few weeks we located our male Cockapoo, Ryder at Kremer Kennels in Scranton, AR. Jay and our son Duane drove round trip 12 hours in one day to pick up Ryder. We were enjoying Ryder so much and he fit into our family so well we decided to add a 2nd Cockapoo to our home. With a few weeks of searching we found Sophie our female Cockapoo. Sophie was bred by June & Jerry Lott at Rocky Way Kennel located in Monroe, GA. This meant another 12 hour road trip. Jay went and picked up Sophie and brought her home just in time for my birthday.
